About the Department

The Department of Organizational Leadership guides the student from the biblical foundations of stewardship and servant leadership through contemporary cultural analysis of leadership, to the development of specific leadership and stewardship strategies.

A highly experienced international faculty will lead each student through this journey of greater biblical, cultural, and contextual comprehension, personal transformation, and missional fruitfulness.

 

Areas of Study

The Department of Organizational Leadership offers students a variety of courses, including:

  • Business as Mission:  Courses focus on the theory and practice of business as mission, entrepreneurship, applied ethics, catalytic roles in marketplace transformation and servant leadership
  • Leadership:  Courses include an introduction to leadership, missional leadership, launching and leading non-profit organizations, building networks and collaboration, friend and fund raising, and leading coalitions.
  • People Management:  Courses include volunteer management, human resources, and program evaluation.
  • Financial Resources and Administration:  Courses include accounting, grant research and writing, financial planning for non-profits, and corporate finance.
  • International Business:  International business, marketing, organizational behavior, operations, and strategic leadership

 

Learning Outcomes

Students who complete the Bachelor of Ministry will be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of various leadership and stewardship philosophies, approaches, and methods for missional non-profit organizations.
  • Devise systems and processes for leading and resourcing the non-profit organization in a variety of cultural contexts.
  • Defend your personal leadership and stewardship philosophy and approach.
  • Apply a strategies for leading in a missional organization that it is both Biblically faithful and practically relevant.

Students who complete the Master of Ministry will be able to:

  • Compare and contrast various philosophies and approaches for leading and managing missional non-profit organizations.
  • Design and implement systems and processes for leading, managing, and resourcing the non-profit organization..
  • Critique any number of competing philosophies and methodologies of leadership, management, and stewardship.
  • Design and justify a personal approach to leading, managing, and stewarding God’s resources.
  • Implement a leadership and stewardship strategy that is both Biblically faithful and contextually relevant.
