Welcome
The Department of Mission Studies prepares students with a biblical understanding of the great commission and equips them to apply biblical truth in their lives and service in intercultural settings.
Why Mission Studies?
One of the most important and exciting tasks of the missional Christian, until Christ returns, is that of discovering new ways to share the gospel in home and host cultures among a wide variety of people groups and languages. Mission Studies prepares students with a biblical understanding of making disciples in a variety of cultures. It also develops intercultural skills to explore new and innovative ways for making disciples that make disciples. Students gain a foundation in intercultural communication to engage internationals and open doors for missional and career opportunities.

Welcome
The Department of Cultural Studies prepares students for Christian service in settings in the US and across the globe. Students study human cultural diversity from a holistic perspective and learn practical skills that allow them to work with people of various cultural and social backgrounds in diverse contexts and in fields that rely heavily on cross-cultural communication.
Why Cultural Studies?
Today’s society is culturally and demographically more diverse than ever. The Christian message is always embedded in particular cultural and historical contexts and in order to be communicated effectively, it needs to be “translated” into the notions and perspectives of those who may receive it. The goal of anthropological knowledge is to build bridges of understanding between cultures. By looking at people’s ideas about time, space, family and kinship, economy, sustenance, politics and power, healing and health, art, play, and religion, anthropologists are able to understand differences and similarities between human beings as they have been created by God. This understanding is essential to meeting people as Christ did: in their own environs and circumstances

The Department of Ethnic & Reconciliation Studies combines an understanding of culture, conflict resolution and biblical justice in its programs in ethnic and reconciliation studies to prepare graduates for missional ministry in global societies needing racial reconciliation, peace and stability, and the transformation of culture through the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Why Ethnic & Reconciliation Studies?
The two fundamental questions any normal human being asks to get meaning for existence are: who am I and what am I. These two questions have been addressed and debated by theologians, anthropologists, philosophers, and historians, to mention a few. However, their analysis often begs for more question and explanation. Global societies are still searching for an answer to make meaning out of their meaningless cultural context which is often infected by racial conflict, dictatorial leadership, exploitation, poverty, diseases, and hopelessness.
Both in the undergraduate and graduate level of studies, the Department of Ethnic & Reconciliation Studies provides courses to empower missional Christians to engage issues in cultural contexts across the globe. Personal, social and spiritual transformation comes through the power of a gospel-centered witness in both word and deed. Our ultimate hope is not to create Utopia on this earth. The lasting peaceful coexistence of different race and animals on this earth is when the kingdom of God is ushered with its full power and manifestation. The courses we provide enable you to embrace the values of the kingdom of God and live a meaningful and fruitful life between the now and the not yet.

School of Community Ministry
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound. (Isaiah 61:1)
The School of Community Ministry is for those who have a God-given desire to restore hope to the masses and become all God intended them to be through a personal ministry of sharing faith and demonstrating God's love in service to your community
