About the Department

The Department of Criminal Justice & Public Safety equips students to understand and address some of the most pertinent issues of our time—from social inequality and global interdependence to public safety, community development, immigration, and many others. Criminal Justice & Public Safety teaching and research scholarship is on these issues and much more. Teaching and studying the issues involves drawing on social and criminal justice theories, applying valid and reliable research methodologies, and using social statistics to analyze the research data. For Missional University, a liberal arts Christian institution, the faculty integrate their faith into their teaching and research scholarship.
