About the Department
The Department of Medical & Health Services is comprised of both undergraduate and graduate degree programs applicable to a variety of practice settings and situations, as well as further education in clinical and professional fields. Students completing the program and meeting the prerequisites will be eligible for professional certification in their future endeavors. Our faculty bring into their classes a wealth of experience and a global perspective. Our classes allow faculty to give personal attention to each student. Our students will have an opportunity to volunteer at various agencies, and obtain internships in both secular and religious organizations throughout the globe. Upon graduation, MU students will be able to go on to pursue meaningful careers and further study.
Areas of Study
The School of Medical & Health Services prepares students for careers in various medical and health disciplines. The degree programs offered by Medical & Health Services focus on physical, mental and spiritual health. The dedicated faculty encourage student growth in these disciplines from a missional perspective.
Learning Outcomes
Students in the Department of Medical & Health Services program will be able to to:
- Demonstrate an increased understanding of medical information, including one's own medical diagnosis and treatment plan.
- Practice risk reduction and prevention behaviors.
- Demonstrate caring for others, understanding the importance of public health concerns and the value of serving others from diverse backgrounds.
- Integrate a Christian worldview of physical health principles in understanding and maintaining wellness.
