Now that\u00a0may sound kind of strange to you so let\u00a0me unpack that just a little\u00a0bit. Each one of us needs safe places to\u00a0ask hard questions to go when we hurt or to go when we are full of joy.<\/p>\n<p>We envision that the office of the chaplain can be a\u00a0place that you'll feel comfortable to\u00a0send an email or to make a phone call or\u00a0two or a video and just say you know, here's what I'm dealing with today,\u00a0would you pray with me and know that\u00a0that is a safe place for you to live\u00a0life. That's what I hope to be as your\u00a0chaplain. I hope that we will nurture an\u00a0environment or climate for Missional\u00a0University that will make it an\u00a0incredibly powerful and effective and<br \/>\nmeaningful place to serve the Lord in preparing for our calling.<\/p>\n<p>I was reminded last\u00a0night of Psalm 89 where the Psalmist makes an\u00a0incredible promise about who our God is. He says:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Your arm is endowed with power;\u00a0your hand is strong, your right hand exalted. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne;<br \/>\nlove and faithfulness go before you. Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you,\u00a0who walk in the light of your presence, Lord.
